If you're a Christian woman entrepreneur—whether you've already started your business, are thinking about starting one, or you're in the process of growing it—this post is for you. I want to share the six phases of business with you, and trust me, this insight will be a game-changer for your journey.

I’ve put this framework together prayerfully, reflecting on the stages I’ve been through in my own business. As I look back, I’m amazed at how God worked through each phase. I often think, “Wow, I wish I’d had this understanding earlier on.” But the truth is, I needed to experience these phases first. So, consider yourself blessed to have this insight as you move forward in your business!

Stage 1: The Willing One

Stage one is where it all begins. You're the willing one. You may have a vision, an idea, and a deep desire to serve, but you're just starting out. You may not have a solid business structure in place, but you're stepping out in faith, saying, "God, I’m willing. I want to do this, and I’m ready to take action."

If you're like I was, you just jump in. Maybe you start helping a few people here and there, but you’re not charging or even thinking about it. If you do make money, it’s sporadic, and it's not sustainable. You're in the early stages, and you're simply willing to serve however you can.

Stage 2: The Striving Servant

By stage two, you're in the striving servant phase. You’ve probably got a website (even if it’s on a free platform), maybe some DIY business cards, and a service or two you can offer. But the money? It's still very unstable. You might make a few hundred dollars here and there, but you’re not really pushing your business or selling with intent.

At this stage, you're still funding your business through your day job, whether you work full-time or part-time. You may even be feeling like you're more comfortable serving than selling. It’s about the work, the heart behind it, but not yet the income you dream of.

Stage 3: The Awakened Builder

Now, things start to get really exciting with stage three, the awakened builder. This is a turning point. You wake up to the reality that what you’ve built so far is more of an expensive hobby than a business. The lightbulb moment hits, and you realize: you’ve been working hard, but you haven’t yet created a sustainable, profitable business.

This phase is tough but necessary. You’ve been giving so much of your time and energy, and yet you’re not seeing the financial return that matches the effort you’ve put in. For many, this is when burnout hits, and you finally realize something has to change. It’s also the phase where many entrepreneurs discover coaching as a solution. You start to realize that there's a better way to build your business, and you seek help through low-cost resources like webinars or coaching.

Stage 4: Rooted and Rising

Stage four is where you truly begin to rise. You become rooted in your business and start making serious progress. You’ve invested in coaching (whether group or one-on-one), and you’ve learned that selling is a form of serving. You also realize that limiting your income limits your impact.

At this stage, you have systems in place—services and products ready to go, and a marketing and sales strategy that works. You start feeling just as comfortable marketing your business as you do serving your clients. This is the phase where you're financially supported by your business for the first time. You can pay yourself and cover your business expenses, and it feels incredible.

You may even find that you're not doing everything by yourself anymore. You might hire contractors to help, and for the first time, you're able to step into the role of a true entrepreneur, not just a business owner working endless hours.

Stage 5: The Prosperous Woman

Stage five is where you step into the prosperous woman phase. You’ve gone from making some money to consistently making stable money. You’ve hit milestones like your first 10K months, and maybe even seen as much as 20K or more.

You’ve crossed a threshold where the business is providing the financial freedom you’ve dreamed of. You may be able to leave your day job, or you may choose to stay in your business full-time. You’ve evolved your lifestyle—upgrading from shopping at discount stores to shopping at places like the Galleria or even splurging at Louis Vuitton or Tiffany’s.

But it’s not just about money. At this stage, you're not only able to serve your clients at a higher level, but you’re also able to give more than you ever have before. Giving back, whether it’s through scholarships or other ways, becomes a priority, and you’re able to do it with gratitude. You’ve created a financial foundation that supports your mission.

Stage 6: Crowned

The final stage is crowned. This is the most profound stage, and I want you to really grasp what it means to be crowned in your business.

At this point, you’ve done the personal development work, and you've realized that while effort is important, you don’t have to hustle or chase after every goal. You know that you're already rich and redeemed because of who you are in Christ. Your identity is secure, and you no longer feel the need to struggle for abundance. You know it’s yours by divine right.

In this stage, you're no longer frantic about your income. Whether it’s a 20K month or a 3K month, you're at peace. You’re not constantly stressed about what’s next. Instead, you’re focused on building systems that allow you to serve your clients and reach more people in a sustainable way. You’re creating systems that enable you to do less and earn more, with more ease.

This stage is about living from your identity, knowing you’re a daughter of the King. Like a queen, you don’t need to prove your worth—it's already established. You are clear on your calling and the purpose your business serves, and you're living in that purpose every day.
